Nightlyapp staking
Updated
Nightly Wallet is a multichain crypto wallet with staking access through its browser extension and mobile apps for iOS and Android. Regular staking commits tokens to support proof-of-stake validation. Liquid staking gives you a tradable token representing the stake while the underlying tokens remain staked. Whether it fits your staking needs depends on the particular asset and network, the staking option's reward terms, and any conditions on accessing staked tokens.
Network coverage and staking eligibility
Nightly lists Solana, Sui, Aptos, and NEAR among its supported networks. That coverage establishes wallet compatibility with those ecosystems. Nightly's January 23, 2024 tutorial separately describes regular staking on Solana, NEAR, Sui, Aptos, and Aleph Zero, with a validator and amount selected in the wallet. Its March 22, 2024 NEAR guide also describes liquid staking through Meta Pool, which returns stNEAR for deposited NEAR. A staking option must also accept the particular asset on the network you're using; a token appearing in the wallet doesn't by itself establish staking eligibility.
Reward terms and access to tokens
The specific staking option determines the terms you need to compare:
- The asset and network it accepts.
- How rewards are calculated and what any displayed rate measures.
- Any charges that affect the return.
- Any conditions on withdrawing the stake or accessing rewards.
Nightly's general staking description doesn't establish a wallet-wide reward rate, minimum stake, or withdrawal period. For Meta Pool's NEAR route, fast unstaking swaps stNEAR for NEAR using available pool liquidity and charges a liquidity fee. Delayed unstaking has a waiting period without that liquidity fee. Both routes require NEAR for network transaction fees.
Nightly's separate statement about charging no additional fees beyond network transaction fees concerns its built-in swaps. It doesn't establish staking costs, so that swap policy can't serve as a staking fee schedule.
